Best Camping Spots Near Port Macquarie

Come on this journey with us as we show you three of our favourite camping spots near Port Macquarie!

Port Macquarie is a town located on the mid-north coast of New South Wales and at the mouth of the Hastings River. Port has become a very popular holiday destination over the years and tourists now favour the area for many reasons. One main reason is that Port Macquarie has the highest Koala population on the east coast and it is now home to its very own Koala Hospital. People love these furry animals so getting up close with one is truly a special experience. Another reason many people now flock to Port in the warmer months is for the many beautiful beaches and lush rainforests in the region. The area is absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to Holiday Parks so narrowing it down to just three was tricky!

Here are Campaway 2444 we specialise in the delivery and retrieval of luxury caravans in a 150km radius of Port Macquarie so today we will include three of our favourite Holidays Parks where any of our vans can be delivered to.

NRMA Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park

Famous for its outstanding waterfront views, beautifully landscaped gardens and first class service Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park, offers a slice of paradise on the banks of the Hasting River, right by the beach and city centre. Wake up to the sound of ocean waves and smell of the salty sea air from your caravan site. A beachside haven, this holiday and caravan park is a place where guests can take a break from their busy lives and reconnect with the outside world. Being local for our whole lives we can confirm this is one of the best holiday parks on the Mid North Coast.

Boasting absolute water frontage, you won’t find a holiday park in a better location than this in Port Macquarie. You will be able to start your mornings with a walk along the newly refurbished breakwall and boardwalk before heading down to the beach for a mid morning swim.

The restaurant and cafe precinct is second to none and all on a short stroll from the holiday park. Horseshoe Bay Holiday Park

Located in the beautiful South West Rocks, Horseshoe Bay is a standout park for both of us located only 60 minutes from Port Macquarie. This holiday park is located on an absolute beachfront location boasting beautiful calm waters for swimming. If the beach is not your flavour there is great family friendly swimming in Back Creek adjacent to the campsite which also offers great fishing for those seeking recreational activities. This park offers a sense of calmness as you look out from your spaciously sized lot to the ocean, creek and nearby mountains.

This holiday park is situated amongst amazing historical sites and awesome cafes and eateries. Trial Bay Gaol is located at the eastern end only 5km away while Smoky Cape Lighthouse is one of the oldest and tallest lighthouses and is definitely worth exploring. Our pick of the cafe options is Back Creek Cafe whilst Riverside Tavern offers food and beverage options.
